Classes of Service & Predictability

A fixed-date commitment

There’s a regulatory delivery with a non-negotiable fixed date in 6 weeks. Meanwhile, normal flow continues and a business urgency may appear at any moment. You must honor the date without paralyzing everything else.

🎯 Mission

In 4 rounds, use classes of service and forecasting to honor the fixed date with room to spare, absorb an urgency, and keep predictability high.

The concept behind this mission

Promising a fixed date without knowing your own delivery time distribution is a bet, not a commitment. Classes of service exist so that different demands get different policies: a fixed-date item runs under its own regime, starts at the right moment and does not compete with the standard flow the whole time. Here you decide when to pull the item, which percentile to base the promise on, and what to give up as the date gets closer.
